The Raja and Rani carrom strikers are designed by Humble Raja (Bhavesh and Reena Mistry). Inspired by miniature paintings of royalty, this king and queen face one another as equals.
The king holds a flower, a poetic symbol in royal portraiture of grace and presence.
The queen offering paan references a long-standing romantic motif — in miniature paintings, paan is a gesture of enjoyment and affection.
This Raja and Rani duo is inspired by the elegance and romance of historic Indian miniature paintings. Drawing from works like Krishna and Radha Watching Rain Clouds (Cleveland Museum of Art), Malavakusika Raga (The Met Museum), and an 18th-century Garhwal painting of lovers (V&A Museum), the artwork echoes the gestures and intimate symbolism found in classical art.
We are introducing a special Limited Edition of our Raja and Rani strikers, now available in a classic bone color. While the original set featured our signature teal, this limited edition is a direct nod to the high end carrom pieces of the past that were traditionally crafted from ivory. We wanted to capture that vintage, ivory like aesthetic to give you a striker that feels like an heirloom from a different era.
